Supercharged 3.9 Rover V8 1980 Ford Capri
Bob emailed me via the site with details of this Supercharged V8 Capri nearing completion. It's a lesson to us all - enough is NOT enough.
Bob writes: "What started as a 'simple' re-shell of my V8 Capri soon turned into a whole new project.... As soon as I had bought a donor car for its shell, I knew I wanted to do something different. Something a whole lot fatter! I wanted to run a standard width axle and a standard X-Pack can't really accomodate 10" wide wheels, so I decided that despite a background in graphic design, fabricating an extra wide X-Pack all in steel couldn't be that difficult - could it?! No sooner had I started than the supercharged engine begged me to take it home and I couldn't refuse. A tuned 3.9 Rover, Wade RO34, Weber 500 and monster scoop meant 350bhp and that was too good an opportunity to miss. Welcome to FAT 744T - The Fat Capri." www.thefatcapri.co.uk
